As a Department of Transportation (DOT) Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), I know the opportunity has finally arrived and Purpose Driven Services (PDS) was born. Counselor Winifred Okafor was a former Senior Officer of the State of Texas, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Parole Division. She has over 18 years hands-on experience in the field of Behavioral Health, Mental Health and Addiction Treatment. She is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Internationally credentialed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC); Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) and Credentialed Professional Coach (CPC). Her expertise is directly working with individuals - adults, children and teens, couples, and families who are prepared to face and defeat their challenges with a comprehensive assessment, intensive treatment, and long-term plausible strategies for their addiction, drug/alcohol, and substance abuse-related matters.

Winifred is certified Group Therapist, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) Counselor and SUD (Substance Use & Substance Use Disorders) Therapist.

Her academic and educational background is in Addiction Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) with specialization in Christian Counseling, Christian, Mental Health and Transformational Coaching; and Trauma and Crisis. She graduated from Christ Restoration University, Maryland with graduate degree in Christian Counseling: Coaching and Mentorship (April, 2022). She is in final year graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counselor with additional specialization in Trauma and Crisis (2023, M.S, Walden University). She is a graduate of West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia (B.A, Psychology with concentration in Abnormal and Child Psychology, 2001).
